What is the Greens WA State Conference all about?
Our Conference is a unique “time out” from the usual business of reps rounds, group meetings and activism, to reflect on the journey, explore issues together and learn from each other.
A fun and stimulating event, the conference offers you the chance to get to know members from other regions and participate in a diverse array of workshops and forums.
What decisions will be made at the Conference?
In WA, Greens Conferences are simply an opportunity to confer, meet, discuss, learn and share.
Unlike the role of Australian Greens Conferences and the conferences of some other political parties, the conference itself is not a decision making body. So we will not be using it to formally determine policy, candidates or party direction – these things are decided by Representatives Council through a consensus process between regional groups.
However, the conference does have the ability to make recommendations to Reps Council and is an excellent space for Green visioning, idea generation and laying foundations for reps proposals.
When is the conference?
Arrival and registrations are 5pm, Friday 13 June, 2008.
Conference runs until 4pm, Sunday 15 June.
